The star has donated the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound award prize money to the Music Venues Trust, which operates to preserve the Britain's independent music venues.
Fender was given the cheque on mid-October as his third album the album was declared the top album of the previous year.
He has chosen to donate the funds to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the essential function small stages had in his early career.
"As an artist wouldn't be doing what I am doing today if it wasn't for all the gigs I performed around the North East, and beyond, when I was beginning," said Fender. "These spaces are renowned, but they are in difficulty."
Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these spaces have shut down – approximately one-sixth of the total UK scene.
In the last year, major artists including the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its attempts to support the industry, by adding a small levy to their admission fees, which benefits local stages.
Fender also joined in, collecting over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous grassroots venues across Britain.
These funds helped locations that were confronting imminent closure due to challenges stemming from flooding, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as permit problems, conflicts and sound issues.
Additional spaces received monetary aid in upgrading amenities and gear that directly benefitted artists and concertgoers.
"The concept that funds from concerts in big venues supports the smaller venues, where it all starts for performers like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has stated.
Fender is not the first artist to donate his award funds to good deeds.
When they received the award in 1996 for their release the album, lead singer Cocker stated that the act would contribute their cash to the charity the charity.
During 2002, musician she divided her prize across a few good causes, such as the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.
"I also donated a grand to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they required new equipment," the artist told the media.
In recent years, they donated their prize money to the community center that nurtured their act, alongside other grassroots music organisations.
Also the 1994 recipients they donated their winnings to a charity for MS after a friend was found to have the illness.
"Receiving the award was quite enough," stated singer Small. "The cash was the bonus but we didn't need the cherry, because we had the main prize. So our winning touched the lives of others."
Recently, the Music Venues Trust announced it had saved two local spots in south-east England, by placing them under public stewardship.
One venue in Southampton and the second in Bristol were acquired under the community ownership initiative, which is supported by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who acquire "ownership units" in the properties.
